About the office:
The office was established by decision issued by the General Secretariat No. 1/18739, dated 12/1/1439 AH, corresponding to 8/12/2018 AD, and was administratively included under the umbrella of the General Administration of National Health Economics and Policies.
The office is specialized in achieving the following:
- Identify health projects and programs for the sectors and classify them in the annual sector budget in coordination with the Ministry of Finance.
- Determine the need for beds and centers in coordination with the Health Economics Department.
- Presenting future health sector projects or purchasing precision medical devices and equipment for approval by the Council.
- Determine the expected costs of the projects and required equipment in coordination with the Health Economics Department.
- Coordinating with the Ministry of Finance and the Spending Efficiency Center regarding projects, equipment, beds, and hospitals.
- Coordination and integration between the health sectors and the Ministry of Finance in identifying national needs for hospital construction projects and providing expensive equipment.
- Establishing an electronic platform for projects, programs and medical devices for the health sectors for the purpose of providing a national database in coordination with the National Center for Health Information.
- Taking into account the method of calculating costs and national health accounts for national health services and projects in coordination with the Department of Health Economics.
- Providing the Ministry of Finance with the views of the Planning Directors Committee regarding recommendations after they were presented to the Preparatory Committee and approved.
The office manages:
The office manages the work of the Committee of Planning Directors in the Health Sectors, which was formed by Council Resolution No. (4/71) dated 5/7/1437 AH. The committee is specialized in the following:
- Study the projects and programs that are selected from the sectors and proposed to be included in their budgets.
- Propose technical committees from committee members or planning and project departments in the sectors to determine the expected costs of projects and required equipment.
- Providing the necessary recommendations and proposals to the National Planning and Projects Office.
