1- Proposing the laws, regulations, legislation, health programs, and activities in health promotion and diabetes control, as well as participating in the development of health-related national policies in coordination and collaboration with the relevant stakeholders and utilizing the research and studies available.
2- Establishing a national diabetes database and registry for diabetes cases in the kingdom, in coordination and cooperation with relevant authorities and centers, and analyzing and publishing the data for specialists.
3- Supporting and facilitating the implementation of national policies and strategies for health promotion and diabetes control, and coordinating between the relevant entities responsible for execution.
4- Developing diabetes clinical guidelines based on
the latest scientific information to improve the level of services and care
provided.
5- Conducting studies and research in health promotion, diabetes control, and treatment, to create an evidence-based guidelines and quality standards for diabetes control.
6- Proposing national research priorities in health promotion and diabetes control in accordance with the current health and research plans, along with coordinating between research entities, and creating a research database.
7- Providing consultations in diabetes control and proposing practical solutions for emerging health issues
8- Collaborating with national and international centers and entities specialized in health promotion and diabetes control.
9- Collaborating with relevant entities to organize
and supervise on diabetes related conferences, seminars, and workshops.
10- Approving programs related to the center's tasks , setting performance indicators, evaluating, and following up on their implementation.
11- Setting plans and working to attract the financial and material resources necessary to support the center's activities.
12- Enhancing the capabilities in diabetes prevention and control though supervising the implementation of specialized training programs in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
13- Utilizing the support of scientific and non-scientific associations
to prevent diabetes and improve its control.
14- Evaluating programs and activities for diabetes
control and treatment in the Kingdom for
continuous improvement.
