Objectives:

  1. Providing integrated information and a clear picture of the reality of heart diseases and atherosclerosis in the Kingdom.
  2. Building strategic plans for cardiac health care.
  3. Continuous improvement of clinical practice and treatment outcomes for patients with heart disease and atherosclerosis.
  4. Issuing statistical reports on heart diseases and atherosclerosis in the Kingdom.

Outputs:

  1. A national registry of heart disease and atherosclerosis data in the Kingdom, activated among health authorities.​

The national program to raise the efficiency and effectiveness of cardiac centers in the Kingdom

Objectives:

  1. Improving the heart patient’s therapeutic journey, raising the level of quality and safety of care, and facilitating the process of accessing it.​
  2. Improving the management of cardiac centers’ operational processes.
  3. Building capabilities and competencies in cardiac centers.

Outputs:

  1. A national program implemented by cardiac centers in the Kingdom that contributes to raising their efficiency, effectiveness, and the quality and safety of the care provided by them.

The National Program for Accreditation of Cardiac Centers and Departments in the Kingdom

Objectives:

  1. Creating unified standards and foundations for accrediting cardiac centers and departments to ensure the safety of patients when performing any medical operations or examinations, which contributes significantly to preserving their safety and the quality and safety of the care provided to them.

Outputs:

  1. A national program that adopts the evaluation of cardiac centers and departments and the issuance of accreditation certificates according to their capabilities and the type of cardiac operations and examinations available in them.
  2. Training and developing national cadres in the field of accreditation of cardiology centers and departments.

Initiative to calculate risk factors for heart disease and atherosclerosis

Objectives:

  1. Creating an electronic mechanism that enables the individual and the health practitioner to determine the individual’s probability of developing heart disease and atherosclerosis.
  2. Support health awareness and education efforts to prevent heart disease and atherosclerosis.

Outputs:

  1. An electronic mechanism to calculate the risk factors causing heart disease and atherosclerosis in the Kingdom.

Rehabilitation care project for heart patients in the Kingdom

Objectives:

  1. Improving the quality of health care provided to heart patients, specifically those suffering from heart attacks and those who have had open-heart surgeries.
  2. Contribute to reducing re-admission of patients by providing rehabilitative care services to them in cardiology centers and departments.
  3. Support heart centers and departments in health sectors to establish and provide rehabilitation care services for patients.

Outputs:

  1. Rehabilitation care services provided to patients in cardiology centers and departments in the Kingdom.
  2. Building capabilities and competencies in cardiac centers and departments in the field of rehabilitation care.

Ambulance safety system in public locations where there are human gatherings

Objectives:

  1. Saving the lives of infected people in public locations.
  2. Preserving the lives and safety of injured people in public locations and reducing possible complications that may occur to them until specialized emergency teams arrive. ​
  3. Reducing the burden on the Saudi Red Crescent Authority.

Outputs:

  1. A system that ensures the provision and implementation of emergency safety requirements by the management of areas where there are human gatherings.

An initiative to measure the prevalence of chronic diseases in the Kingdom in cooperation with the Absher electronic platform

Objectives:

  1. Know the extent of the spread of chronic diseases in society.
  2. Supporting decision-makers by providing a clear vision of the reality of chronic diseases in the Kingdom.
  3. Optimal planning of health care services.

Outputs:

  1. A national database on the prevalence of chronic diseases in the Kingdom.
