The 'Saudi Health Council' was established under the name of 'the Health Services Coordination Council' in accordance with Article (16) of the Health Law issued by Royal Decree No. (M/11) dated (23/03/1423 AH) under the chairmanship of the Minister and shall comprise the following members:
· A representative from the Ministry of Health.
· A representative from Health Services Affairs from each of the following : the National Guard Health Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and Aviation, the General Department of Medical Services at the Ministry of Interior, and King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, to be nominated by their parties.
· Two Deans of Local Health Colleges (to be nominated by the Minister of Higher Education).
· Two representatives from the Private Sector (to be nominated by CSC).
· A representative from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (to be nominated by SCFHS)
· A representative from the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (to be nominated by SRCA).
· A representative from the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance (to be nominated by CHI ).
Pursuant to Council of Ministers' Resolution No. (418) that was issued on (29/10/1435 AH), a council named the 'Saudi Health Council' shall be established under the chairmanship of the Minister and shall comprise the following members:
1. The General Director of the Armed Forces Medical Services.
2. The Executive General Director for Medical Affairs at the Ministry of National Guard.
3. The General Director of the Medical Services at the Ministry of Interior.
4. A representative from the Ministry of Health.
5. A representative from the Ministry of Education.
6. A representative from the Ministry of Higher Education.
7. A representative from the Ministry of Finance.
8. A representative from the Ministry of Civil Service.
9. A representative from the Ministry of Economy and Planning.
10. The General Supervisor of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center.
11. The Executive Director of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority.
12. Vice President of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority.
13. A Dean from one of the Health Colleges.
14. The Secretary General of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
15. The Secretary General of the Council of Health Insurance.
16. Two representatives from the Private Health Sector.
After the Council of Ministers' decision to merge the Ministry of Higher Education and Education into one Ministry under the name of “Ministry of Education", the Council of Ministers has issued a Resolution No. (475) dated (11/09/1436 AH) regarding the representation of the Ministry of Education in the Saudi Health Council by changing the previous representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Education in the Council, to become representatives from the Ministry of Education and a Dean from one of the Health Colleges.
Council of Ministers' Resolution No. (283) dated (30/05/1440 AH) was issued in order to amend Article (16) of the Health Law issued by Royal Decree No. (M/11) dated (23/03/1423 AH) with the following: “9. A representative from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development shall be appointed by the Minist". Subject to reordering paragraphs accordingly.
On (04/08/1440 AH), Council of Ministers' Resolution No. (442) was issued in order to amend Article (16) of the Health Law issued by Royal Decree No. (M/11) dated (23/03/1423 AH) with the following: “16. The Executive Director General of the Disease Control and Prevention National Center….". Subject to reordering paragraphs accordingly.
The order becomes as follows:
1. The General Director of the Armed Forces Medical Services.
2. The Executive General Director for Medical Affairs at the Ministry of National Guard.
3. The General Director of the Medical Services at the Ministry of Interior.
4. A representative from the Ministry of Health.
5. A representative from the Ministry of Education.
6. A representative from the Ministry of Finance.
7. A representative from the Ministry of Civil Service.
8. A representative from the Ministry of Economy and Planning.
9. A representative from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development
