أسّس مركز البحوث والدراسات الصحية بالمجلس الصحي السعودي في عام 1433-1434 هـ، وذلك بموجب قرار مجلس الوزراء رقم (11)، وتاريخ 1434/01/12هــ، وتم تعزيز دور المركز في قرار مجلس الوزراء رقم (86) وتاريخ 28 /01 /1445ه، ليكون الجهة المختصة لإجراء الدراسات و البحوث التي تدعم صناعة القرار بالمجلس الصحي السعودي.
